Fantasy Baseball certainly has its merits. Who hasn’t wanted to build the perfect team or be the manager of a Major League franchise? Of course not everyone has the time it takes to put together a really successful team and to manage it and make sure it’s successful.
One of our partners is a site called 11Runs and they offer a different kind of fantasy baseball game. Instead of one long game that lasts the whole season at 11Runs you can play two fantasy games a week. Basically the fantasy competition mirrors the mid-week and weekend series that are being played in the MLB.
The whole game is pretty easy to use. You just sign up, make a team, and enter a competition. It doesn’t work with a draft and more than one person can have the same player on their team. There isn’t a salary cap but there is a system to keep people from loading up with star players on their teams.
Another thing about 11Runs that makes it different is that you can win cash when you play in certain competitions. Basically it works like an office pool. You put up an entry fee and then compete against a group of ten other players who also put money into the pot. Whoever wins the competition takes home the cash. It gives the game a different edge to it. Of course you can play for free with their fantasy credits system if you like.
The site also has some cool features that work with Facebook and Twitter and they’ve got an iPhone app so you can keep track of your game while you’re on the road. All in all the game is a nice option for baseball fans or fantasy sports fans so take a look and see what it’s all about.
