108 stitches is a blog driven to provide insightful and entertaining knowledge that fantasy baseball junkies crave. The founder and columnist is 31-year old Chris Bracke, who works full time as a graphic designer during the day, and tries to build upon his fantasy career in the evenings. He has over 15 years of fantasy sports experience, five of which is working either part time or full time in the fantasy sports industry at places like KFFL.com, Fanball.com, and MockDraftCentral.com. He has four experts league titles under his belt and doesn’t go a single day without thinking about the next step to take with one of his keeper league teams, or loosening up said belt.

Project Prospect’s Top 25 Prospects - July

One of my favorite sites to visit is Project Prospect, because of their incredible work and because they delve deeper into my favorite subject in fantasy baseball–prospect prognostication. They recently posted their Top 25 prospects list for the first time in quite a while and it does cause me to ponder how long we should […]

Denard Span

Not Such a Cuddy Buddy

The Twins have been without right fielder Michael Cuddyer since he went on the DL on June 28th with a strained tendon in the knuckle of his left index finger and despite a CT scan not revealing any further bone abnormalities, the frustration continues.
Cuddyer been experiencing soreness in the palm of his hand and even […]

Above the Beltre?

After recently being subjected to an episode of “Most Outrageous Moments,” I can honestly say I must be the only person who doesn’t find the humor in someone taking a shot to their twig and berries. In similar fashion it’s remarkably tough to find people who are fans of the often volatile Adrian Beltre. It’s […]

Adrian Cardenas

Yo Adrian!

As mentioned I told you I would do a brief synopsis of the main prospect the Athletics got in the Joe Blanton trade and here it is.
Second Baseman Adrian Cardenas is a strong player with a compact, smooth line drive swing with enough loft to produce reasonable power numbers. He’s a very average defender, but […]

Joe Blanton

Rather Bland-ton

I am not a fan of Joe Blanton, but if I was a fan of the Oakland team he has now vacated, I would credit Joe with leaving behind a decent haul of prospects for a pitcher with a mediocre line of season stats.
I remember when I wrote an analysis of the Blue Jays signing […]

Updated Top Prospects

I’d like to draw your attention to the fact I updated the Top 30 Prospects list with a midseason edition. Enjoy and as always, your feedback is appreciated.

Mike Pelfrey

Let Pelfrey-dom Ring

The stumbles of premium prospects have become a popular topic to discuss in fantasy circles and the latest is Mets pitcher Mike Pelfrey. Pelfrey was ranked as the Mets top prospect by Baseball America in 2007 and the hype was running high dating back to the days in which he went 33-7 with a school […]

Midseason Predictions Redux

It’s much easier to predict the finish of teams when half the season is in the books, but that’s no reason to avoid doing it. I was so tempted by the Rangers-infused All-Star week to predict a miracle finish, but the reality of it is as strong as their hitting is, and as likely as […]

Santana Declining

It seems like few people are bold enough to say it, but there are a handful of people out there who believe Mets pitcher Johan Santana is on the decline. Count me among that group. In fact I was concerned that the number of innings and history of bone spurs in his elbow were reason […]

AJ Burnett

A Suitor for Burnett?

Recent reports claimed the phones at the Rogers Centre in Toronto have been quieter than the seats in a showing of the Eddie Murphy film, “Meet Dave.” The apparent lack of interest in pitcher A.J. Burnett has come to a close now that C.C. Sabathia and Rich Harden are off the table and the Phillies […]

Dead Blue Jay

Broken Down Jays

For those who don’t know me that well, I have been a loyal Blue Jays fan ever since I learned to turn on the game on my parents television set. There have been good times and bad times and given the recent injuries, the present time would fall into the latter.
Center fielder Vernon Wells suffered […]

Ricky Nolasco

Hey Ricky!

The folks at Fangraphs have put together an interesting take on Marlins’ pitcher Ricky Nolasco and his recent success. Nolasco has an incredible 42:4 strikeout-to-walk ratio over his last six starts and clearly has pitched better than he ever has before in his career. Read Fangraphs take right here.

Cubs Counterpunch

Longing for the days where Mark Prior and Kerry Wood were engaged in a tag team, cage match with the disabled list, the Cubs agreed to terms with the Athletics on a six-player deal on Tuesday that included oft-injured righty Rich Harden.
Harden’s numbers this season are precisely what people figured he’d produce if he was […]

CC Sabathia

Central Heating

The NL Central race is heating up and it’s because of the most recent member of the division, Brewers starting pitcher C.C. Sabathia.
The Brewers didn’t want to be scrambling to play catch up and they should be commended for setting the trade market weeks before the deadline. I strongly believe this move gives them the […]

Updated Player Rankings - July

The first item of business is the camouflage uniforms on Saturday night. I understand it’s Armed Forces Appreciation Day and I strongly agree that these people are extremely deserving of our praise for the sacrifices they make to keep us safe and keep us enjoying our freedoms. That’s precisely why we could do better than […]
